I loved this book so much I had to share it with all of you. If anyone has read it I'd love to hear opinion and for those who have not read it, it is a fantasy tale that has been called 'the harry Potter for adults' and it truly is wonderful in my opinion. I fell in love with the characters instantly and the way magic is used in the story is very unique. I pictured a a setting much like that in the video game Fable if any of you are familiar with it. I've had four other people read it so far and they all adored it. This is the first book in what is to be a trilogy with book two coming out March 2011. I definitely recommend checking it out. :)

I loved this book. I read it obsessively until the end. I love the storrytelling aspect of it. There are so many unanswered questions. I can't wait for the next book to come out. it is such a great world and the author has made some great charecters.
ahhh, The Name of the Wind. This is a major element of our home life. Patrick Rothfuss is on all of our facebook and RSS feeds as we eagerly (and politely) await the next book. The rest of the story. Pleaseeeee! My son met him in such a sweet way, and Patrick sent him an autographed book, before we all knew what it was all about. Now we have fearful flashbacks to George RR Martin's unfinished series that has left us all heart-broken and cynical. But Patrick is being so good on his web site about keeping us up-to-date that we still have hope.

It is a wonderful book. Can't say enough about it, except that I hesitate to ever again recommend a book that is part of an unfinished series (yes, I'm talking to YOU, Mr. RR Martin!)
Haha, I didn't read the George RR Martin books even though my husband says I would love them. There's nothing more disappointing than an unfinished story. Pat will finish his though; I have confidence. The next book is done, he just says he's being a bit anal in his editing but the book is set to be released in March regardless. I can't wait! My husband and best friend also read this book (we passed around one copy) but we're already fighting over who gets to read the next installment first. I think we're going to have to spring for three copies. lol

Hey! On Patrick's website is an actual picture of the finished, bound, hardcovered book. He says he has to read it again (sigh) for more, um, micro-editing? But there it is.
