I agree, heel is hard. Hoping that's one of the things we go over in our Intermediate class. As far as the harness goes, Pandora was like that at first too, but within a week she settled in to it. It also has made it so she doesn't react to costumes and such now.

LOL, Megan! I think teaching heel is much harder with a short dog!

I got Penny a harness, we've only been able to try it for a short time yesterday. I think she hates it and walks funny in it, I adjusted it several time too! It is kinda funny, she seems to be taking very careful and deliberate steps with it on and every now and then looks back to bite at the part connected to the leash. She resigns to the fact that she can't reach it like she wants and goes back to being silly. We'll work on it with all these "new" cats in the neighborhood, oy!

We just ordered Pandora a Hawaiian dress from dog.com They have alot of clothes but very little that fit the theme. They were crazily reduced in price though, her dress was only $2.50 with $5 S&H so we bought two sizes to see what fit.

Robin we weren't planning on going to the Ball, it sounds fun but a little expensive.

Does anyone plan to attend the Krewe People Ball on Friday, January 29th? It's at 7PM at a la carte in the Oil Center in Lafayette. $40 per person, or $375 for a table of 8. I've never been, but I want to go for fun this year. Let me know ASAP if you are coming and want to sit together. I'll be happy to reserve you spot.

Thanks for the comments! I think we will try a harness.

We have a harness for Pandora that we use for walking in public for the same reasons you saying and it works pretty well. The training thing is that you have more control with a leash and collar than a harness.

They didn't want us to use the harness bc they said it encouraged and made it easier to pull/tug the leash in walking and that they would not learn a proper walk. That was why I never got another one, but I might just try anyway. I really had been thinking about it again lately.

hmm....what do people say about them?...i really like it, Toby only really pulls when he's with another dog but it doesn't hurt his neck like a collar and normally i just give a tug and correct him. It seems to work very well.
