Hi Sadie....I would love to be included in a Corgi get-together.....It would be best for me if it could be in the Williamsburg area....since I live so close to Richmond, but I realise that may not work as well for everyone. Just let me know what the plans are if a get-together is scheduled for the future. Marion

Hello Kaly, Toby and Nancy,
We live in Chesapeake and I was the one that made the comment to Marion back in January. How about the Newport News area? Are there any parks there? Although Colonial Williamsburg is lovely as well. Would love to meet with you all and anybody else interested.

Hello from Williamsburg! We have had quite a wonderful winter here haven't we? My corgis didn't want to come back inside when there was snow out of doors! I used to belong to the Waller Mill dog park. It is not an open park but required a copy of vaccination records, a copy of your James City County dog license and a yearly fee. It was not open (at that time) to all dogs. I have not been back there in more than four years. Bear was attacked by a female bulldog and Tasha's ear was ripped by a dog on it's first visit. It's a lovely park and most folks there are attentive. Now that I have three corgis, the regulations require two humans and my crewe might be too self-policing. My corgis and I also go to York River State Park and hike through the ravines. There is also Freedom Park - but during the budget shortages, the areas have not been mowed as in the past.

Anyway, a leashed walk throughout Colonial Williamsburg might be nice. We do it all the time and folks stop to chat and get corgi love. There is an active corgi meet up group in Richmond and I have been an active member. Unless you can find private property in this area on which to meet, James City County is pretty tight on the lease law.

Hope to see you soon! With corgi high fives: Bear, Tasha and Linus

Hi Sadie May.....What a neat idea....I would love to have a get together in Williamsburg....They do have a dog park there at Waller Mill Park? I think that is it....Wonder if we could reserve it for a Corgi Play Day? It is a lovely park..in the woods with a lake right by the dog enclosure....lots of trails....a bridge...you can purchse drinks....would have to bring your own food.....Just let me know what you might think would work...I would be happy to help with the arrangements. Tell me about your corgi or corgis. How old are they, male, female, etc. My Sammie is just the most mellow fellow....loves everybody and everything.....Merry is a little more of a challenge....she has never met a person that she didn't like....but can be a little snippy with other dogs....so I would have to watch her....She was shown on the California circuit several years ago....had a litter of beautiful puppies....and then her owners decided to show chows and gave her to me....Do you show or breed puppies....or just love corgis....thanks for the corresspondence....Marion

Hi Marion,
I sent you a comment yesterday but I don't think it went through. What I said was that it would be great to have a corgi get-together in the spring in Williamsburg - half-way between Richmond and Hampton Roads. Would love to meet Sammie and Merry,

Hi....I just came across the Hampton Roads website and since I live near Richmond, Va. thought it might be fun to get to know some of the corgis and their owners in the area. I have two corgis....Sammie and Merry....they are both 8 years old and delightful. They travel with me everywhere.....truly they are my support group....I was given both dogs to rehome, after losing Gaelic, a tri colored corgi.....Since I worked for a vet at the time...I was easily available when a client asked if I might be interested in taking her female corgi....Sammie was given to me by a dear friend from Virginia Beach....I will never be able to thank her enough...Also rehomed a wonderful Bernese Mountain Dog who needed a new home....She, Elsie, now lives with my daughter and two grandchildren in the Denver area. Her playmates are two Jack Russell terriers and an aged border collie mix. They all get along well....and it is bedlam when they are all playing in the family room.....Wishing you all a Happy New Year.....Marion

That's a shame that there aren't many blackheaded tris. This is proving to be a tough search.
