Hello everyone. I think Gracie is really bored during the day since we work all day. I think that may be why she is taking out on me! LOL! She is really into biting and barking at me. She never breaks skin. She seems to mostly do that to me more than my husband. I'm starting the puppy classes tonight so that should hopefully tire her out. I'm thinking of some kind of puppy daycare during the day. There are companies around that do that. There is a place near my office too. Anyone here have experience with puppy daycares?

We have been really lucky to have someone able to come home at least once a day so I don't know Twinkie would handle real boredom. We have been watching Dog Whisperer lately and finally something stuck on me! He says again and again, "Exercise, discipline and THEN love". I think we have turned Twinkie into an adorable monster by trying to give just love, love, love. Have you tried taking her for a loonngg walk after work? I know she's little and if she's like Twinks, she flop over in someone's lawn every chance she gets :o) She might get tired enough that she's just happy to lay around with you in the evening. If all else fails, you could bring her over here for a day of corgi in-home care!! Of course, it wold just be love, love, love all over again.
That does make perfect sense. This has been a rough work week so I haven't been able to walk her as much. It has been so hot lately. She does like to flop down in people's yards too! :) I may take you up on your corgi-in home care! LOL! :) She needs more exercise. I'll be off of work beginning Friday through next week so maybe I can help wear her out. Did Twinkie like to bite on you when she was a puppy? I yell "NO!, "No bite", OUch, Yelp, thump on the nose, growl, and even bite her foot (not hard. :) ). That seems to get her more excited and she does it more. I've even tried to ignore her and walk away. I'm going to ask the instructor tonight about this. She mainly seems to aggravate me. I guess I forgot how puppies can be!
I'm happy to see your reply. I was afraid I scared you with the day-care comment :o) Twinkie was a terrible biter and sometimes still does it! She bit my husband on the toe so hard when she was little I was afraid he was going to kill her. She still bites, mostly him, but all members of the family (and REALLY close friends) mainly on the feet, to this day. We wonder if its the corgi way of saying, "Is it playtime now?". Do you have other dogs? We are lucky that she saves most of her biting-style of play for her older sister, Amy. Amy hates it but at least its not us! Maybe we can get together on one of your Fridays off? I don't have a fenced yard but its large and my dogs don't run off (radio fence) maybe Gracie would stay with the other dogs? I also have older kids (11 & 13) we could put in charge of corgi round up. We could also go to the dog park but I would be nervous with baby Gracie and other, bigger dogs. Just let us know. I met up last week with Victoria at Suwannee Towncenter Park and we had to keep the dogs on leashes. Let me know if your interested. Have a great day!
