Our wonderful Chip is near 6 months old. Right now I am in a wonderful one story ranch house with a great back yard and front yard for him to frolick in. Come October, if we do not renew our lease, there is a 90% chance I will be taking over my boyfriend's lease in a condo on the second floor. 

Chip has in the past at the sitter's house, run up and down their carpeted stairs. The potential new home will be as below (Gaps included). He absolutely refuses to climb them and we are tasked with carrying him up and down every time we take him out :( 

ANY tips or training methods on getting him to come down would be greatly appreciated. We know he can do baby steps and small elevations but nothing like the staircase below.
