This group is born from my own interest in training my puppy to become a therapy dog. This group is for people to share advice and techniques, issues and concerns regarding training for therapy work. I would appreciate it if members did not discuss at length any other work training their dogs are doing such as tracking, agility, etc. I would also like this group not to be a bragging place. If your dog is trained already and an established therapy dog, that's fantastic, but unless you intend on helping others with ADVICE, please do not join merely to talk about how well your dog is trained, how fantastic he is with patients, etc. It makes other members frustrated if their own dog is not performing that perfectly yet. Please feel free, though, to discuss in detail any road bumps you encounter with an already trained dog, any courses of action you are taking to correct the problems, general advice or encouragement you have or whatever. If you are a member of this site (and thus have a corgi) but the dog that you have trained is NOT actually a corgi, feel free to post anyway, New members will be thankful for any advice regardless of the breed being discussed. Lastly, please do not put other member's training methods down unless they are OBVIOUSLY flawed. If there is something they're doing that you don't agree with and your method WORKED better than the other member's method seems to be, broach the subject gently, and be professional with your opinions. Dogs are trained differently and can still end up perfect in the end, not everyone has to follow the same doctrine.
