I am a recent graduate of Purdue University. Lisa and I live in Louisville, KY and we currently have 2 corgi's, Midas and Dozer.
Welsh Corgi Breeder?
No
About My Corgi(s):
Midas, born on May 24, 2008, is our first Corgi who made us fall in love with the breed. He is sable colored. Midas is a goofball who loves to play fetch and tug but will also cozy up with you as well. Sometimes he gets a little excited with his Corgi kisses and will leap all over you with joy. So beware, he is a kisser!
Dozer is our newest addition. He was born on March 30, 2010. He is a furball!!! He loves to play with Midas with ropes, still working on fetch. He definitely has a gator chomp! Dozer is a Black Headed Tri.
Welcome Zach & Midas. Cute pictures, the one picture reminded me of our corgi when he was a puppy, he also liked to hide under things, mostly the sofa. Cobi is now 11 and too big for that. He still loves to cave though, likes his crate and igloo.
Welcome!. Midas is a cutie. He reminds me of Steve when he was 10weeks young (just several months ago). Savor every minute because they sure do grow quick.....
Hi Zach, Lisa, and Midas! Thanks for the nice comment. I'm currently working on a new video, just need to get some more material for it! Midas is a cute little man! I love your profile picture!
Your little man is so handsome! Such a sweet face :) If you need anything, do not hesitate to ask! This place is an amazing community and you couldn't have chosen a better place. Don't you just love how Corgi's sleep? Those pictures of him sleeping are sooo cute!
Midas is a sweet little baby. We have two tri-kids, whom we adore. It's very hard NOT to spoil a corgi. They could live on food, snacks, biscuits, and frapping!
Owen is almost 5 months! He is getting a little nutty.. our vet wanted us to wait to do the rabies vaccination so we can't get him enrolled in obedience.. we still love him.. he is actually pretty good but a little bitey
Hi! Thanks for checking out our pics! Most, if not all, our outfits come from the clearance rack @ Petsmart. The green Dino/.Lizard thing is actually a 24M size toddler bath robe from The Disney Store that we got a garage sale for $1. hahaha =) Good luck on your wadrobe hunting! Bailey has enough clothes to justify me buying him a closet now... =P
hey zach and lisa
this is probably about a month or two late but i think i saw you guys walking down state street! i really wasnt sure if it was midas but it really did look like him! hope we can meet up for toto and midas to play sometime
I just saw you might be coming to the meetup and that you go to Purdue! My husband graduated from there a few years ago, and I was there almost every weekend his 5 years there (so I feel like somewhat of an alumni too haha). Hope you can make it Sunday!!
I am SO glad you made it to the meet up. If we had an award for the farthest travelled, you all would win! I am glad that you both and Midas had fun! Spencer is pretty well pooped too! All in all a great day. We are going to do it again...maybe in our yard this time...we will see. Thanks again for coming. I posted on the main page about sending pics to the resort to feature on their web page
Thanks for the friend add! It was nice meeting you, Zach and Midas at the meet up today. It was alot of fun watching all the corigs. Im impressed that you drove from Indiana, awesome!! : )
Love the chick magnet t-shirt, A few weeks ago, I found a dog tie, that says spring fever, chick magnet! I am going to post his picture soon with him wearing it! Lance just loved that doggie cookie, do you happen to have the recipe for it?
Hi! I got Winston last year from a breeder called Kelly's Corgis in Battle Creek, Michigan. I didn't have any experience with a corgi before Winston and now I love the breed!
The meet-up in Castleton sounds cool...it just depends when you have it, because I frequently visit my parents in Hamilton County (Indiana), but my schedule is really tight.
I'm right around the Castleton area, so that's perfect. Either day is fine, but I might have a preference once I know the exact weekend (if I have something going on). I'm very excited about this though because it's tough to get around a group of folks to let the dogs just run and have fun. Tank is VERY playful right now and will help wear out other pups :o)
Hi Zach and Lisa...sorry for the delay in response to your post on my page. I don't really have any words of wisdom for organizing a meet up. it was pretty easy because the pet resort had guidelines that had to me met, so that gave everyone a lot of structure. If you are having one at a park or a public outdoor facility, I would think it would be pretty easy...just use common sense. In our case, the resort owner told us that customarily people charge $5 to cover any expenses and that seemed to work out well. Everyone that attended were so incredibly nice (which I think ALL or most corgi owners are) and were willing to bring food or whatever we needed...I wouldn't mind organizing another one in the future. with the nice weather, the pups could make better use of their outside play area...hope this helps! Feel free to contact me if you need to!!! Hugs to Midas from Spencer!
Hello! Check out my new blog, I added corgi pictures of the meetup finally!!! There is a link on my page to view the pictures on photobucket as well! Hope you enjoy them!
Ok, so I have 2 questions:
1. How did you manage to get the meetup for free? I hope you're not trying to absorb all the cost!
2. In your pictures, the first 2 look like they have a story behind them...is that dirt all over your living room floor? Did Midas do this?
I wish I could!!! I'll actually be in town the weekend before for an agility trial in Lebanon, and I have a wedding in Kentucky the weekend of the meetup. Have fun! I hope you get a big turnout!
that's too funny about all the dirt!....Tank will have his final round of shots on 6/6...so just in time for the meet up. He still needs the rabies shot and whatever else comes with the last batch...can't wait to get those out of the way!
So, back to the dirt...ironically, Doug and I went to the Indy 500 yesterday and decided to leave Tank in the kitchen (w/ a baby gate) instead of his crate. We didn't leave much in there with him (no trash can or rugs), but he took the potty pads and ripped them all to shreds! However, I did wipe down all the cabinet corners with bitter stuff, so at least they're not all shredded too!
My daughter helped put the slideshow together and did most of the work, but it doesnt seem hard at all, as long as you have the pictures on your computer already. We went to the rockyou website for the slideshow i believe.
I would agree - I'm excited about the meetup too! Tank actually got all his shots already. I bumped up his appointment to last Tuesday. Unfortunately, his vet's office is in Fishers - and we were there during the hail storm! While Tank was being weighed in their back area, it started hailing so bad that it broke an office window and smashed several people's windshields!! My side mirrors were shattered and I have dings all over my car, but I'm thankful that we were already inside when it started - one of those BASEBALL sized hail stones could have been aweful for the little guy!...........Seems like he's had a stormy history - we brought him home in a storm too! Ah well, I ramble. Can't wait to meet Midas!!
Hi there Zach and Lisa...no we have not had this breed before; but fell in love with the breed last year! We are finally in our own home and can start setting roots...one of which will be our baby corgi! Can't wait! We are looking for a breeder so if you have any suggestions or can help in any way we would be greatful! Thanks for being our friend and look forward to having "play dates" with our corgis in the future!
Sure, we'd love to meet up sometime. We just adopted Jellybean this week. She's as sweet as can be and also the laziest, most laid back dog I've ever met! We took her to happy hollow park today and she just laid down the whole time.
