I'm a 26 year old college graduate with a BA in History. Hiking, camping and hanging out with the dogs are some of my favorite past times so I figured a corgi would be a great addition to my family. Currently there are two Siberian huskies in my house, Marty and Max, both males who are owned by my parents. I have had dogs all my life but this will be the first one that is trained by me. I am currently aplying to be a CA Park Ranger!
Welsh Corgi Breeder?
No
About My Corgi(s):
I will be getting a tricolor male Pembroke at the end of August 2008!
Welcome to MyCorgi, Justin. I'll bet you're excited. Have you started to make preperations for the new arrival? Hopefully the breeder will hold on to the puppies until they're 10 weeks old. That seems to be the norm now. Have you picked out a name yet? With all the members on this site, ask any questions and some one will have some experience or advice, never fear.
That's great Justin. I think you're right on the name. Lots of times the name you pick out ahead of time just doesn't fit. Go with your decision to wait at least nine weeks, like I said a lot of the breeders are doing 10 weeks now so the pups get proper bite inhibition from their siblings and mom, and better socialized with people.
Your Welcome! Thanks for the compliments on Lance, he does have some very cool markings :-). How fun it will be to watch your pup grow. This site is awesome if and when you need help with your pup. I wish this would have been around when Lance was a pup. It sure is coming in handy now though.
I love your pictures! It will be nice to have those baby pics even before you actually have the baby home with you! Keep posting the pics as you get them...I wish I had pics of Daisy that small!!!
I know exactly what u mean by waiting takeing forever! I dont get my baby till Aug. 22nd I swear that day will never come! LOL hopefully time speeds up for us both!
Unfortunately they are still not getting along. I don't think I will ever give them a chance to be friends either. In June I tried having them patch things up but it only took 2 minutes before they were fighting to the death. :( I got bit when I broke them up. I was lucky it could have been worse. They are perfect dogs individually.
Wow, congrats, he is so adorable!!! It is funny but when they are puppies, I often think that pembrokes are cardigans; hard to tell. Inquisitive is a Corgi's middle name. Mine is 9 and still very interested in every little thing. Joy and Buttercup
PS I used to have a Siberian Husky. I can't remember it shedding anything like my Corgi even though they both have down coats. Keep me posted and let me know a year or so from now and tell me if I am correct...that nothing sheds like a Corgi...You may want to start thinking about purchasing a Furminator LOL
Awe! A play date! It will be more like a family reunion! If you find any other littermates turning up, let me know too, k? It will be fun to keep track of them all. :)
