About Me:
My first "baby" is our Pem, Ein (pronounced like Einstein). For any anime lovers out there, the answer is "Yes, he is named after the corgi in Cowboy Bebop." We currently have three dogs. In addition to Ein, we have a rescue lab mix named Tucker and a rescue collie named Colleen.

I am an architectural drafstman by day and a jewelry maker by night. I run a shop called CorgiCreations at Etsy, and I also run a blog (corgicreations.blogspot.com). Currently, I'm working in commercial architecture, due to the lull in the housing market, but I hope to get back to residential design asap. When I'm not working (or commuting 1.5 hours each way), I enjoy making jewelry (of course) and doing cross stitch. I'm currently an active member of Weight Watchers, so I spend a good share of time on the treadmill, as well.

About My Corgi(s):
Ein is a very special little corgi. The AKC would consider him to have "faults", but to us, they are what makes him stand out in a crowd and make him who he is.

Ein is a black headed tri, which seems to be rare enough, based on all the corgis that I've seen where I live. But on top of that, he's a bluie. Ein's coat is more of a dark charcoal grey than a true black, and he has lovely grey eyes. He also has an ultra soft coat. It's not as soft and luxurious as his puppy coat was, but he is much softer than his "uncle" ( a red headed tri owned by my SO's father)

To make Ein even more noticeable in a crowd than his color, he is also a "one ear". He's got one ear that stands up and one that it is floppy.

Now on to personality: Ein is a stubborn boy. "I'm the boss" "I have to be first" He loves to play-grumble. He'll pretend that he doesn't like belly rubs by grumbling at you when you do it, but meanwhile he's closing his eyes and thoroughly enjoying every minute of it. He has this "tough guy" image that he puts on, but deep down, he's a real sweetheart. He's great to cuddle and snuggle.

Ein has been banned from stuffed animals, as he loves to disembowel them and spread stuffing from one end of the house to another. Which wasn't a problem until we adopted Tucker, who likes to eat the stuffing. Which means that when he goes potty, we have to put on gloves and pull long pieces of cloth out of his rear end. Ugh. His favorite games are "keep away" and "tug of war". He'll play tug of war with anything from a rope to a ball. He actually loves it so much that you can lift him up off the ground by the rope. "Keep away" is a game in which he brings you (or one of the other dogs) a toy and teases you with it. Says, "I know you want this. Come get it and play with me." And as soon as you reach for it and get close to it, he grumbles, grabs the toy if he's put it down, and runs off. Then he'll come back and do it all again.

Never a dull moment with my boy around, that's for sure.

Commenting on my own page to say that our DSL self install kit is supposed to be in the mail and the phone line is due to be turned on this Friday. I'll be out of town on Friday and Saturday, but I'll try to get picks up on Sunday.

Until I get a chance to actually post pictures, here's the link to the "pups" section of my photo album if you wish to see all 3 of our furkids.

PS, if you decide to look at the album, the red headed tri belongs to my future father in law. His name is Nick (not after me. My fil adopted him and didn't want to change his name.) He is three years old.

Hi there. My Rocky has an ultra soft coat as well, like bunny fur. Ein's colors are gorgeous! :)

Thanks for the nice comment on Griff's page! Ein looks like an awesome doggy, and sounds a lot like my Griff. Faults? What faults? Hehe, all Corgis are adorable the way they are, no matter what they look like - Ein is a true cutie! I hope he feels better soon :)
  • K Hartshorn

Ein is quiet cute, I my self have a cardi with one ear up one down.

Hi! I just realized you guys are in North Metro Atlanta...as am I...corgi meetup?? =)
  • Natalie, Lance &Tucker

    Hi Nicole,
So Ein likes to play keep away, so does Lance! Stuffed animals are also banned from Lance as he would eat them also. I wish he wouldnt cause they are so cute. Your dogs are all so adorable.
  • Natalie, Lance &Tucker

oh and Happy 4th of July!
  • Natalie, Lance &Tucker

Thanks for your compliments. Yes Lance does have trouble with pulling, I have been working with him since that post and he is getting better. When I walk him I stop everytime he starts to pull. We start again and repeat! It is time consuming but it is helping. Thanks for offering your anti pull harness, I appreciate itbut so far he seems to be doing better.

Thank you! Your Ein has quite a personality. Thank you for keeping Yogi in your prayers. He is the love of my life; best dog I have ever had. I love him so much!

Hi Nicole! Congrats on the wedding! I would love to eventually expand CorgiClothes to include formal wear, but at this time we are still a small business. Thanks for your ideas and interest!

I love your blue corgi! I always try to find pictures of Blue corgis, they are so rare! And I see breeders that sell them as "rare" for over $1000!! silly isn't it? And others that consider them a fault, mismark, whatever. I just love them... but it is so hard to find one from a good breeder... i don't know why they charge extra.

I think one of my pups might be a blue, not sure though. He is 2 weeks old. here is a picture.

Compare with a average Tri puppy the same age.

  • Tekozi

Your welcome. I wish it was easier to get blue corgis. I found a breeder that has them every now and again, but there puppies sell for $400 but they want like $700 for the blue ones... so silly. If I ever had a bluie I would not sell him/her for more... actually I would probably keep it lol.

Have you seen the chocolate corgis? They call them bluies too.. but I think they look brown. Heres is a pic of one.

Here is my light little boy, he has grown a lot. I will be so mad at myself if I dont keep him and he turns out blue or chocolate.

  • Tekozi

My friend just got very, very sick. She is having to sell all her dear corgis. i told her i would take her older female, but she has a young blue male... right away I thought of you! Let me know if you would be interested. Here is a picture of him when he was a puppy, he is still young, i am waiting on his latest pictures.

  • Natalya Q

my corgi looks eerily similar to your Ein O_o

2 things: First, please consider joining the "blue crew" group (http://www.mycorgi.com/group/bluecrew). Second, I wanted to look slender in the mirror for 2009, but the treadmill was too much work, so I bought a Fun House mirror. Problem solved!

    Be well.
  • Butter

I just read your blog about food allergies. My Butter went though this over the summer and I think he is fine now. Aloha, a member on this site, helped me out so much with this. I would write her a comment, in case she doesn't see the blog...and would do everthing she suggests. Good luck with everything. Joy and Butter
  • Tekozi

I will ask her. Considering her illness I doubt she was able to keep him this long.
  • Tekozi

Good news, she still has him for sell. She is a great person, I got my male (Oliver) from her and he is just darling.

She said if you are really interested to contact her. Let me know.
  • Natalya Q

yes it's a little uncanny. but what can i say, they are good looking dogs :-)
