I currently live in Chicago, but grew up in South Portland, Maine (gotta love the great outdoors!)
About Me:
I moved to Chicago a year ago after finding the perfect boy and the perfect job. I love it here and it doesn't hurt that this city is one of the most dog-friendly places in the country!
Welsh Corgi Breeder?
No
About My Corgi(s):
My boyfriend's 2-year-old welsh corgi, Toby, is the most hilarious, naughty, energetic boy ever! When he was a puppy he TOTALLY destroyed all the wooden furniture in the kitchen and when you went to scold him, he just smiled and asked with a tilt of his head, "What? Want to play!?"
Hi Jen, Love the pictures of the Golden and the Corgi, great combo. That has been our combo of dogs for years now, you can see all the corgi and golden pictures on my Flickr site. George
Thanks! His face gets him out of a lot of trouble ;)
And yeah, keep us updated on the hike. We missed the corgi picnic too (I felt Gibson was still just a tad too small/young) so I've been hoping for something else to come along this fall!
I would be interested, but I actually can't do either of those dates. I could do the 12th or 13th. Is there anywhere else in that area that has an actual park where the dogs could play. A hike is really nice but I would love to let them off leash if it was possible.
Hi jen,
I have talked to a couple of the other corgi owners here on the site (Jenny, Natalie) as well as a couple of people from corgi rescue that we met at the picnic. I have offered to have a small group at my home on a sunday afternoon sometime soon. I live in the south suburbs and have a nice fenced in yard...spouses/boyfriend/girlfriends are welcome. I will let you know...trying to coordinate everyone's schedules!
Thanks, Jen, for the invite. I am not sure that we would be able to meet you that day. We need to make a trip to Rockford one weekend in Oct. When we finalize our plans, I will get back with you. It was nice to meet you (briefly), at the picnic.
hmm, maybe we should reschedule when more people can make it? :) Maybe you can post it as an event and everyone could vote on a day?
I've only been to Starved Rock once, so I don't really know the trails at all! I'm about 45min away from there, but I'd say late morning/early afternoon would be best!
We actually have not been to a dog park yet, since Gibson just got his rabies tag last week! I've been thinking of taking him to one in St. Charles though, since it's the closest one to us that's free. If something is organized at the Hinsdale one or another one though, let me know! Sundays are normally best for me :)
the only park we go to is the one in town, Batavia's Bark Park. I've heard of other awesome ones but it seems like there is never time to go and explore... :(
oh thanks jen! so many people have asked if her name is ted. as for teddy bear. i call her corgi, bear, fox, panda (red) raccoon penguin dog. (penguin for the short legs) :D toby looks like a wonderful boy. aren't they just the best!?

Love this picture of Toby! I am soooo happy I finally got the pictures up, I have been wanting to do this forever but with over 200 pictures it has taken alot of time!
