About Me:
I live in the country and love animals so I have a variety of dogs(2 of my own corgis, Wynn and daughter Sage)2 rescues,a corgi mix and an Aussie) cats and free range chickens. I am lucky because I get to work close to my home and my dog(s) get to come with me...My husband and I have grown children and several beautiful grandchildren who love to visit and play with the animals. My love for Corgis started when I went to pick a female Corgi and Wynn picked me... he proceeded to walk up to me, lay his tiny little head on my foot and fall asleep.Wynn still parades around my house with one of my shoes and I always have to "look" for my shoe before I can leave...I did a Corgi rescue April (08) I felt like I wanted to help other Corgis...wow what an experience and I learned a lot. I also do corgi rescue when needed..Jackson now lives with Jennifer Markley. Calvin my Cardigan rescue lives with Joanna and Rainy my own Pembroke was rehomed and lives with Joanna's parents where she can be the "princess" and have her own people!
Welsh Corgi Breeder?
No

About My Corgi(s):
I have 4 Corgis.Wynn is my male Corgi that started this obsession with Corgis and he is now 9. Wynn's daughter Sage is 3 and a Therapy Inc.dog that often travels with me.Wiley my rescue is also about 8. Teddy my other rescue is about 11. Armani is my Aussie who thinks and acts like a corgi! Tank is a 4 year old Corgi mix. We decided to adopt him instead of another Corgi because he had already been in 3 homes at 1 year of age. He can run for hours in our groves and wear off his energy and is such a sweet boy. 1/2.

Hey Jane how are the new baby goats doing??? How are the Corgi's liking the cool air. Can't keep Ed and Gem in even though the wind is what 45mph???
  • Marika Tarver

    Good morning Jane,
I wrote you last night, when I went to mycorgi. website, but it said: I made a boo boo? I don't have a clue why this always happens to me, I wish I would find out what I am doing wrong.
Sassy is doing better. She is trying to move a little with her hind knees, instead of letting them just dangle when she is pulling herself around. She escapes when I fix up her pen sometimes. I let her watch TV with me on the carpet (and give her massages regularely) cause she is so used to being on the couch :-(. I take her outside to do her business, her little fat front legs are moving fast and I have a hard time keeping up. :-) The vet said to keep her in the kennel and see. That's all the vet said. I was a little disappointed. When she pees she pushes her leg under her belly and when she is done she puts it down. Just like she used to do. :-) So I am not giving up, may be she will totally recover?. So far she still cannot stand up on her legs at all, she flops? to the side. I am taking her to a chiropracter next week, hope that is the right thing to do.
Ok Jane you have a wonderful day today and of course a great weekend.
    Regards
    Marika
  • Leasa

Thanks Jane. She is doing much better but still not getting her to eat very good. I have tried our chicken gravy over food and 4 or 5 exotic canned foods also but she still picking. :(
  • Elaine

Yes he is. :) What's her personality like? Puck is very independent from both my husband and I but he has his moments of affection. Who are Livvy's parents? Puck's mom is D.H. Sassafras's Darlin and dad is D.H. Diamonds Zorro.
  • Elaine

She sounds so much like Puck. I feel like Puck is too smart for his own good. Like you said, learns quickly but can be such a stinker. He is also fast much faster than my other corgi and my mom's corgi. I'm hopping he'll start agility when he gets old enough. His eye contact is great. Any time I say his name, the look on his face is, "Yes, momma?" His eyes are always intent on something or someone.
  • Elaine

Well if they have the same mom and dad then they are siblings. :) When I picked Puck up, he was the last one to go. I didn't get to see any of his brothers and sisters from his litter. I'm not sure how I'm going to keep him entertained once we get snow so the walks won't be as along. But I've been looking at Chuck its. How old was Livvy when you started using it with her?
  • Elaine

Puck loves anything that squeaks but I also find that balls are the only thing he can't tear apart! And I only got a folder with his picture in it... His litter sold so fast that she never posted pictures on the site. It would be awesome if I could get some mom and dad pictures. Of course I forgot to charge my camera that day so I didn't get any pictures. :( my email is elaineyj119@gmail.com Thank you so much!

Thank you for your kind words on Missing my Jacqueline. They are very comforting.

Hi Jane, how are you today? We are doing ok. I think Sassy is improving. It is slow, but she is trying to use her rear end more, when she turns around in the pen. This morning she stood on her hind legs and was leaning against the pen panel with her front legs. She is always doing the running motion, but of course her hind legs are in the air, cause I am lifting her up when we go outside. My back is very sore, because she starts running and I am trying to keep up with her. It has only been 2 weeks and 2 days. Sassy is back on Prednisone 1/2 every day for a week and then 1/2 every other day. We are taking her to the chiropractor tomorrow on Sunday, and see what she has to say about Sassy's improvement. She is barking again now when she sees me and hops around, which scares me. She gets so excited!! I have her next to me quite a bit, just to let her know we still love her so much. She gets her massages :-). I give her lots to drink, to flush out the prednisone, so I have to take her outside about 6-7 times to pee.
I think I saw on Mycorgi somebody had posted a message, that he made a cart-wheelchair with parts he bought at Home Depot for $ 20.-. It looked really nice!! I thought I had saved the message, but NOT. Would you happen to know who that was, if so would you please let me know? It is so nice to know that somebody is thinking of us, danke Jane.
Have a wonderful weekend with your family and I will keep you updated :-)
    Kind regards
    Marika and Sassy
  • Sky and Lyla

It took me a while to work up the courage too! Sky choked on a piece of rawhide last week, so I'm not particularly fond of that right now, and they needed something to chew! I finally decided to do it after the reading the raw bones discussion up on here this week. I took John's suggestion and got the beef leg bones (I think they're also called marrow bones) from the butcher and had him cut them in half. The butcher also said that they are pretty safe and won't splinter like many other bones. I still watch them closely, of course, but I feel pretty safe and they just love it.
  • Tammey & Caven

Thank you. He is just a ham.
  • Tammey & Caven

    Thanks for being our friend!
  • Edward and Gemima

Thanks for the little witch gift Jane!!!!!
  • Buddy & Wynstan

Oh, I am so excited, I am even taking a day off work just to pick him up. It is sad seeing the food bowls, the monogrammed blanket, and the empty kennel. This is actually going to the first puppy I have had on my own. I am ecstatic

    Hi Jane,
thanks for the welcome comment. I'm new at this social networking thing and I am still trying to navigate through it all!!! Talk to you later,

    Hi Jane,
I was just reading your profile and where is Comfrey? I love meeting people with corgis, because all the ones I've met so far are obsessed with them. Sadie is my 4th Corgi, but my first Pembroke. I used to have Cardigans and thought I could never love a Pembroke, but Sadie proved me wrong. She is so alert and attentive and always wants to be involved in whatever we are doing. Since our daughter is in college she is now the center of attention and resents when her human sister comes home, though after a while she snuggles up with her. I would be in heaven if I had 5 corgis but I would definitely need to be home full-time. How do you divide your attention amongst all of them?
  • Sadie May

    Hi Jane,
Your location seems ideal to raise a lot of corgis. I can just picture all of them running around with the other animals. They are such happy dogs - most of the time at least. We have a semi-big yard and Sadie loves it. But she loves it even more when I take her for walks. Monica
  • Sadie May

    Jane,
and our therapy dog group gets together and we walk the parks in our area. We do 2-4 miles weather permitting. It is so much fun - sometimes we take the leashes off and the doggies love it. After that we like to go for coffee, Starbucks or whatever. It's great comraderie.

  • Sadie May

It is a lot of fun and we all get lots of exercise. We've even done it when it is in the 30's and that is cold for us in Virginia!!!
  • Samantha

thanks for the welcome! She hasn't arrived yet, but we are thinking Maera for the name. :)
  • Bella & Hayes

I tell you, I am so glad to have found this site. Corgis make amazing farm dogs! Thanks for the welcome. It seems our Bellas have plenty in common. :)
  • robert bender

thank you we had only began the treadmill with patch a few days ago and he picked it up super fast we just use so treats to get him to step onto the treadmill and start out kinda slow the go up to a nice walking speed and hold his leash in front of him and the traedmill works great =)
  • Buddy & Wynstan

20 :(. Just buying a bunch of supplies still. I found a 36 inch in diameter dog bed still in the package at a thrift store, and a lot of toys. I am just grateful that the days are going by faster, I have requested more work to pass the time.
  • Jessica Lea & Sydney

I can't wait, either! She will be here sometime around December 1st, just trying to figure out the safest, most comfortable and affordable way to get her here. Otherwise I am just trying to prepare with supplies and get as much information about training her right from the beginning as I can.

Your little gang is so adorable! I love the family pictures. And your garden looks amazing. How long have you had corgis?
  • Liwa and Fergie

Thanks Jane! This is such a great website, I am so glad I found it!
  • Deanna

Hi, Jane -- just got my computer "fixed," couldn't navigate this site for a while, except from the "Main" page, had to load a different browser. Now everything's running great -- so far! I'm sorry to find out about your newbies -- but there's always next weekend -- right?
  • Edward and Gemima

Thanks for joining my little group! Glad to have you on board. should be fun!!
  • Nancy Geddes

Dear Jane: I love the pictures of your furkids. You have done a fabulous job in your breeding standards and I am certain that your corgis are as sweet as lovely. Regarding the Christmas citrus on the tree; I slice my fruit about 1/4 inch, lay them on a rack to dry for about 24 hours (or they will dribble) and finally pierce them with an ornament hook to hang on the tree. Not only is the fragrance divine but when I add the lights, the citrus almost looks like stained glass. I will also tie bunches of cinnamon sticks with plaid ribbon and hang them as well. Even though my daughter Kate is now 23, we still do our tree in the same tradition with our Aaron Neville Soulful Christmas album on the stereo. The only year I could not get the strength was during my breast cancer battle which, thanks be to God, I have won thus far.... All the best, Nan
  • Katie

Hi, thanks for the info. I have looked on their website. Your dogs are great, loved the pictures!! wish I could buy one of your puppies whenever you had a litter, just don't know how to get it here. If you go through my pictures Scooter the tan one is the one we had to put to sleep last month. she was my heart, and miss her terribly, but have my Eddie and he is my baby boy!!
  • Judi, Dawn, Soffie & Griffyn

I'm the bookkeeper here, but it is a beautiful place to work all year round, and especially at Christmas time!
  • Ellen Mai

Hi! Thank you for the comment. Your photos are adorable.
  • Judi, Dawn, Soffie & Griffyn

You're right about that!! I can look right out my office door and see all the fresh cuts in our walk in display cooler!
  • Lisa Brady

Thanks for welcoming Frankie and me... I simply had NO idea how many Corgi lovers there are out there.
I enjoyed your site very much. I don't have a site for my corgi yet, just a business site. But you can see my Corgi Angel on this page:
    http://www.peruchini.com/petmarket.html
  • Parrotplay

Everyone gets along great. The dogs are actually a bit afraid of my parrots.
  • Anne Pinkerton

Your dogs are criminally adorable! And the babies... omigoodnes... Thanks for the warm welcome today!
  • Malcolm & Latte

Hey there Jane! Thanks for a very nice welcome. Its really good to hv found this Corgi-centric hangout site. =D
  • Cait

Thanks for the comment! Callie totally shouldn't have a tail - Mom was a Pembroke and Dad was a Jack, but we love it anyway :)
  • stephanie

Thanks for the Welcome. Your boy is so cute. I am new to owning a Corgi, but so far so good.
  • Priscilla

Jane, thanks for welcoming Magnolia and me to the group. We are very excited to be part of a litle corgi meeting spot on the web :)
  • Dawn

Thank you for the gracious welcome. This is such a friendly group. I feel like I found my new home, nothing but CORGI's! I'm jealous of you; all those cute little butts running around. I find myself smiling like a fool going through all the pictures! Thanks again, and we'll visit soon
  • Dawn

It's a good thing it's only a few more days. I'll have a hole worn in the carpet from walking in circles!
  • Debra

What kind of apple trees did you plant ? Our corgi's love apples and they even pick their own. Of course, they are limited to drops or very low hanging limbs.
  • Karla Felix

Thank you! Your little guys look cute in their Halloween costumes. BTW, thank you for the Poinsettia information you posted on your page. :)
  • Edward and Gemima

Jane, I just love your pic "It's the most wonderful time of the year... for a Corgi" Is that your Christmas photo this year????
  • Cooper, Nora, Grady, Izzy & Jax

what's it like having 6 dogs?
  • Buddy & Wynstan

Thanks! A raw hide in the small hole of the kong is his absolute favorite thing ever. If he sees me pick it up and start to put the raw hide in, he goes really crazy. I didn't realize how clumsy these pups are, it is really cute!
  • Kari Feddersen

Thank you for the welcome!! -Kari, Tess, Tuff

Hi Jane; So nice to have you as an email friend....I do love to send emails back and forth to other Corgi lovers.....I have two corgis...one female and one male....they are absolutely my best friends....and boy do they keep me on my toes. Merry spent the day stealing Sammie's bone....he is so patient he just gives up and lets her have it....woe to him if should every try to steal hers....she is not patient.....war would ensue....They are the best of friends otherwise...they sleep together...play together...and I am sure have great times discussing me....Thanks for joining my friends....have a meeting to go to now so will talk to you later.

Hi Jane: I lived by Eveleth, not really deep into the Iron Range, but close enough....My husband worked for Erie Mining (taconite plant) now defunct. I really have a soft spot for Minnesota in my heart. I also spent several years in Minneapolis....I love that city. Next summer my children and I are going to all meet at Giants Ridge...We have rented a home that sleeps 22...It looks beautiful and we are all so excited to have a family reunion holiday. Merry and Sammy will also be with us....The only dogs....I bet they will be spoiled beyond belief. You know I can't leave them behind...They always travel with me whenever it is physically possible. We have been many places together....the amazing thing is that we returned to a motel a year later and Sammy remembered the room we had. He just could not understand why it wasn't his room again. Well, time to get back to ordering Christmas gifts....Marion
