Welsh Corgi Breeder?
No
About My Corgi(s):
Bear, Tasha and Linus and I enjoy herding, agility and long hikes together. Linus is a fluffy, Bear and Tasha are red headed tris. The Wetherburn Lane Welsh Triple Threat!
You need to add pictures of your group. Yes I have four fluff's and would like to get more. I am a fluff a holic. I trim the hair on the bellies of all of mine even in our "winter" as it helps them stay cool. But with 4 Fluff's the cool factor is high anyway. LOL Oh and go Canes!
oh the fotos at Hatteras are great! we miss you! but we can tell Linus Bear and Tasha had a good time! Yo Bear! you are the sentinel! hope to see you soon...Nancy have a good weekend doing your culinary expertise thing! love Court and Leila
I love the pictures so much. What a gorgeous bunch! I have been a casual fan of corgis for a long time but I hadn't even heard of a fluff until we started looking into a Pem last year. I am thrilled the breeder placed Twinkie with us. She and Linus look very similar.
Twinkie came from Wamego, Kansas, close to where I grew up. Her breeder, Julie Sylvester, just joined mycorgi.com. Her kennel is Juels PWC. My Mom met us in St. Louis with 10 wk old Twinkie. Love at first sight and all of that. We knew we were going to name her that before we even saw her. We have been saying that if we get another corgi, we would name him Bingle (it is a local brand of red velvet snack cake).
How fun is herding? All Twinkie gets to herd is the Dyson.
Nancy and crew,
Thank you for leaving such kind words on Carly's First Run Video. She gets so excited to run him! Monty! gives his all for her 'cause he knows she's family. By the way, you take some nice pictures. Those pics of Tasha, Bear, and Linus
are museum quality! Any relation to Anne Geddes???
Hey Nancy and Family!
It certainly was an exhausting weekend, but well worth it! ;) It certainly is nice to see our bond recognized as much as it is. Usually people expect to achieve these goals by just training. It really is much more than that. Thank you for seeing that and for watching!
Oh Dear! You have a super cute "pack"! Linus is awesome! I love the fluffies. Thank you for your condolences. Quinn was a spectacular guy! Our pack is not the same without him. As a matter of fact... Wookie has been a terror since Quinn's passing. Happy to be your friend.
Nancy I just saw your comment about other fluff's and the NC picnic. Weren't you there last year. We had over 20 fluff's there last year and this year we are hoping for over 30. Some of the fluffycult group is going to be there.
thanks for the tip about the food. Where do you buy it? King is now on Science Diet Z/D. It's terribly expensive. BUT, you know we will do for our guys. Yes, I laughed about Bear putting himself between you. King will jump between my husband and myself. I think he's protecting The Big Dog, as we call him. You know, the alpha thing. . . . . . . . . .
Thank you so much. Yes, I would say 40 yrs shows experience and knowledge. From the pics of your Corgi's, they are obviously very healthy and well. I'll check it tonight.
Thanks Nancy! Your three corgwen are adorable! I think Anne is correct about fluffs getting all the best traits! Porter is growing up to be such a delightful young man... his favorite activities are thieving hats off guests heads and herding the kitties. He's got a great temperament and its so cute, its makes up for the all shedding!
Hi Nancy
Thank you for your comments on my videos. They are fun to make. That silly Sadie kept herding poor little Dash most of the day. She was all over him :) She kept him under the patio chair a lot. Little stinker :) Your pups are precious! I enjoyed looking at your pictures.
Hi Tasha! Good hearing from you. I like to boss the sheep around too. Mom thought I was scared at first but I showed her I could be tough! Your picnic trip sounds fun! I love to see other dogs, but there aren't very many corgis around here. That antler sounds yummy. I like to chew on things but I always break them to pieces so Mom and Dad don't like to give them to me. Maybe I'll ask them for an antler! Hope you're having a great day, and have fun at the picnic! Your corgi buddy, Conan.
Thanks for the herding credits!! I wasn't sure what would fit as a good "being awesome" credit for you guys, so I thought a thank you card would work :) - Conan
Yes i know. I have problem to get Yoda to stay still let alone 3. There members here put their corgi thru obedience training. You can tell, their picture are all perfect and still!
Nancy, thanks for the Anise Cookie recipe! Can you just keep it in a tupperware bowl in the frig? How long will it keep, can I just pull some dough out when I want it??
Ok got your dough instructions for the cookies and am going to attempt mixing them up soon. I really want to make them this weekend when we trim our tree, so guess I better get to the store and get some ingredients. I had to laugh at your thievery tale of sneaking your mom's baking! My youngest bro and I also were closet bandits(that is where my mom hid them) He was better at rearranging them then me...so I just kept eating while he rearranged!! I'm sorry you miss your mom so much, but sounds like you picked her talent for baking/cooking delicious things up! I have one bro who is also a chef!!
Nan, cookies are curing in the frig. I am planning on a Sunday rendevous with the dough and can hardly wait until that first bugger comes out of the oven. The whole house smelled so good the Corgis were circling at my feet and my family wanted to know if we could bake them tonite!!!!! Do you have a recipe for the buttercream frosting or use a special brand you like??? I wish you the Happiest of Thanksgivings!! I know you will be busy working tomorrow(my brother is too) so have a relaxing weekend and don't get too stuffed!!! It sounds as if you have been through a lot and have lots to be thankful for!!! Melissa
Thanks for the comment Nancy, well, Bails had her first herding experience today, and it went great. She was not scared of the sheep at all. The first try she had, she started herding them a bit, but got distracted easily by all the new smells on the ground. The second try was about an hour later. She had some time watch all the other doggies get a turn, and she got very excited from the side, and she couldn't wait to get back in there with the sheep. As soon as she went in, she was like a pro, she started herding them. the trainer gave her little commands, which she completely followed. Needless to say I am a proud mama right now :-) and we will definitely continue and sharpen Bailey's herding instinct :-)
mmmmmmmmmm, can't stop eating these yummy cookies Nan!! I thought they tasted good out of the oven, then I let them cool and put the buttercream frosting on them and they were even better!! We all enjoyed them and I plan to take some to my parents for coffee soon!! thanks for the yummy recipe. I have a huge bag of coconut to use up. Did you say something about macaroons????? I was going to take a picture of my masterpiece but I can't find my camera!!!
That is so interesting, I have my Mom's old cookie press too and I have been making my spritz cookies from hers. It is a little bit of a trick to work it but I like to use it for Christmas and once I get the rhythm going it is relatively easy!
What the heck am I going to do with all this coconut?? I know I'll ask Nan!!! lol!! Don't even mention date balls though, my mom made them every year and loving sweets the way I do I had myself convinced I liked them, or maybe I just wanted to be nice and compliment my mom, anyway I really don't like date balls. My brother and I bypassed them when we found them hidden away!!!!!
We have been in NY visiting our daughter for the last week and I am just catching up. I have heard that fried turkey is great. I am deathly allergic to peanuts so I will never get to taste one. We use the indirect method on the Weber and soak hickory chips in water for 30 minutes, drain them and place them on the charcoal. Then the bird goes on. Happy eating..........
Hi Nancy - Lizzie and I are visiting Grandma and Grandpa.. in chesapeake VA.. we hope there is snow too.. if it does snow and it is safe to travel.. where's a good place in Williamsburg for Lizzie and I to visit? any dog parks? We love visiting colonial williamsburg!
u have 3 lovely Corgis too! The beach is not that accessable in HK so we only go once a month in the summer and normally go to the dog pool weekly as they love swimming. :-)
Nancy, I wish you good fun at the flyball classes. It looked like organized chaos. The dogs certainly have fun. I'd be interested in pursuing flyball, but Timmy has bad hips and we're hundreds of miles from any other teams. Keep us posted as to how your crew likes it.
Just as a side note, Timmy's registered name with AKC is Humboldt's Gold Triple T. My last name starts with a T and his name is Timmy, so during his youth and adventures he always had a middle name such as "tuna, torpedo, tornado, tank, etc." Love your pictures, and the beautiful setting.
Sylvia: Your page and photographs are fabulous! I am envious of the natural beauty and that you are involved in such good activities. Timmy is lovely too. I guess the tidewater of Virginia has it's own beauty; however, the gutsy scale of nature on the Pacific coast is wonderous. My Tasha was with Therapy Dogs International; however, I am a chef (in a private healthcare facility) and my profession would not permit me to satisfy the time commitment. We are professional dabblers - obedience, agility, herding (our fave!), walking Colonial Williamsburg, the bike trails at Freedom Park, and now, the 47 miles one way for flyball. It's not only time, it's tuitions, travel and my Honda isn't always the best way to go with three corgis.
Anyway, a side note from Friday evening - the dogs are encouraged to communicate and it happens that these trained dogs talk as a team throughout the heats. This is up Tasha's alley - the sport that invites her to be as chatty as she'd ever wish!! Herding group dogs would bark at every hurdle - maybe just a soft woof or a jubilant cry but the dogs were very riotous. I spent years with the Timber Ridge Bassets and they also communicated as a pack the moment the Master brought them out of the trailer.
All the best, from James City County, VA on a rainy, grey Sunday morning (I'm weaving a basket today and everyone will just have to camp out for a while!),
