Gromit was born in September of '09. He is the third Corgi I've been owned by and what he lacks in a tail he makes up for with his tongue. Gromit is named for the super smart dog "Gromit" in the "Wallace & Gromit" movie series from the UK. Our newest family member is Sparkle, a female Corgi, who was born in January of 2012. Sparkle is as bright and happy as her name. Her brother Rocky is on MyCorgi, too: http://mycorgi.com/profile/RRG
HELP. What am I doing wrong? (everything!) Your photo captions all appear neatly below your photos. My captions show up across my photos, making them hard to see.
Really? My captions don't cover the photos on your window? I am using the latest version of Firefox. But, I'll check my photos using a different browser and see if it's a browser issue.
Smarty pants. I opened mycorgi.com in Safari and the captions were correct. Not neat and cool blue like yours, but at least the captions are below the photos, not covering half of each photo, but underlined. Thank you!
PS
I actually do try to correct my photos, ie. fix red-eye and crop. But, looking at my photos, it's hard to tell. I still use my iPhone more than my camera. I need to use my camera and camcorder more. I'm so lazy. zzzzzzzzzzz.
Right on, my friend; just as polaroids did in the 80's...instant gratification. I couldn't wait to see my photos when my kids were small. I took way too many polaroids which hold their color for about a minute. Fortunately, I had a Canon A1 or something like that kept in my kitchen, along with a camcorder, such as they were in the 80's. So I have chronicled my kids lives ad nauseum. I was the 3rd born so there were few photos of my childhood. I vowed that Marnie, my 3rd born, would have = or + photos. Now, I look at all the boxes of photos (all organized, dated, logged), 10,000+, and wonder who will ever look at them. How lucky are our kids to live in this generation. I remember typing papers and not being on "home row" or whatever it was called. Each major mistake meant retyping the whole page. Yet, I think texting has taken a toll on relationships. Phone conversations are a rarity between a guy and girl.
PS
I also wish we had call waiting and cell phones when I was a teenager. I remember staying at home and not speaking to anyone & tying up my phone when I was waiting for THE BOY to call.
BTW, switching to triple play, and using time warner for my telephone service has been a nightmare. I do love caller ID but HATE call waiting. I have a 2nd line for my family to call in emergencies and Jack's service, so I have no need to have conversations interrupted with the beeps of call waiting. I called to have them remove this, but I was told I have to do it online, and you know how lazy I am.
Hi Doug and Gromit.....Just joined Ispy Corgi and say your post related to the State Candidate for office. I noticed that you said that you would not vote for someone just because they have a corgi....I think we should all write in the corgis and just vote for them...I don't think they can screw it up much more that it already is..HAHAHAHAHA....Corgi's rule!!! ^,,^
We are on it....I'm afraid mine could be bought for alot less than the ones currently in Washington....My two would change their vote in two shakes of a cardi's tail for simply a milk bone! LOL ^,,^
I absolutely LOVE your photos and your page - so clever and creative! Corgis bring out the best in us, don't they? Puppy kisses to Gromit and Holly from Guinness & Rosie! :)
Doug--Gromit is a real cutie! Seems like MANY years ago, when I lived in Albuquerque and was contemplating getting my first corgi, I contacted Jean York. Did she once live in S. Arizona? We cooresponded, and I decided to wait, as I lived in an apartment and thought it wouldn't be good for a pup. 2 corgis and many years later, my husband and I are in love with CORGIS!
Doug, Scout is a male, but yes, he taught himself to sit up like that, and can stay there for a long time! Good balance, and he knows it looks really cute and he can get treats that way! The puppies aren't all ours--they and the mom belong to our breeder, Kathleen Mallery, but we will be bringing one of them home after Christmas! I love Gromit's name (one of my favorite movies).
Well, Scout is indeed named for "Scout Finch", don't tell him she was a girl! Our first corgi was named "Boo" for Boo Radley, and she was female. Go figure... I think both Boo and Scout are both pretty a-sexual names!
Hey Doug and Grommie!! Ashton thanks you for the gift and always being so supportive of his ventures in agility. My husband has totally caught the agility bug and, as it stands now, we have three jumps, tire, tunnel, table and 6 weave polls. We also got the plans to build the rest of our equipment. Woo Hoo! We go over to a kennel club member's house who has all the equipment once a week for practice. So far they are tearin' it up at practice and Team Ashton will compete in the spring in their very first agility trial! Thanks again for all the support!! <3
Thank you for the shutter speed tip for my camera. I had no idea that low light slows it down. Unfortunately, even with no window coverings in that particular room, it gets little natural light. Next time though I'll turn on all the can lights.
My camera's shutter speed even in full sunlight still isn't the best, but supposedly I can drop it [camera] off a 2nd story balcony or into a pool and it'll be good as new. I am prone to destroying cameras.
Thanks! What a cute pair you have. Fun video. Yes, our dachshund is a big boy and wins every time now, but Ein will give him a run for his money when she reaches her full size. Philo needs to lose a few pounds too, and we're working on that. By the way, my sister's name is Holly.
My wife and I are thoroughly enjoying spoiling our new rescue Corgi, Dougie, rotten, and he enjoys every bit of it. His history begins 21 Dec the first day of winter/winter solstice, the day he was picked up and the sequence of events begam which brought him to us yesterday. My wife is Chinese, so we are renaming him DongZhi, the Chinese word for the first day of winter/winter solstice, falling on Dec.21. So when it's chow time we call him DongZhi Doggie so he can easily transition over.
Thank-you Gromit and Doug, for congratulating Panda on her new brood. They are such a blessing... all healthy and beautiful. Gromit (pretty boy!) looks a lot like my Jackson, I wonder if they're related! His sire is Blacksmith's Benedict by Elessar Double Impact, sound familiar? My son and his family live in Casa Grande, too, so my corgis are practically related to yours! Ha ha! Take care, Diana
It was great meeting you Debbie, Gromit and Holly at the picnic today. Wish we could have stayed longer. Do you ever make it out to any of the Corgi meet ups?
Thank you so much for all of your wonderful insight! Researching it on my own is one thing. Hearing it from a source I can trust is another. It is greatly appreciated!
John, with my luck Gromit would run into the bathroom wearing the camera just as I stepped out of the shower. The resulting video could harm millions if it got out on the Internet.
Thank you for your kind words about my Eddie at the Rainbow Bridge group...it's nice to know there are so many great people out there who understand and care! :)
Stunning fix of RRs photo. Thanks so much! BTW, in one photo, Gromit looks much bigger than Night. Is it just the photo, Night's head looks like it's lower, or in reality a noticeable size difference?
He looks taller, too. BTW, Jack LOVES your fix of RRs photo. He looked at it and said, "I'm so proud." Thanks again for your help. It's now my favorite photo of him.
Thanks so much for the welcome. I'm embarrassed to admit I answered the wrong person earlier, so I will atone here. I almost adopted a corgi a short while ago but, for his sake I declined to adopt. I am planning a move planned back to the PNW in the next year and I don't think I could safely wrangle 2 cats and 2 dogs in a small car on a six-day cross-country drive. So I will wait until my relocation to look again for a (hopefully) senior corgi who needs me.
Thank you so much for your welcome and kind words. I am so happy to have found this site - it helps to come here when my heart is aching for corgi love. Your Gromit reminds me very much of my Chester! I am hoping to find another corgi puppy soon to add to our family.
Thank you! It's great to be here! This seems like such a neat site...I can't wait to figure things out and connect with fellow Corgi lovers! I'm organizing my millions of pictures now, so I'll be putting a bunch up soon. :o) Thank you again for the warm welcome!
He starts at Park Cities Obediance School Monday and if it works I think we'd be willing to give them our first born anyway. Let's just say he's got a lot of spirt!

OK Doug, how do I take an infrared photo of Gwyynie in her ChillyBuddy cooling vest and extraterrestrial-brain-implant-resistant tinfoil helmet?
