About Me:
My husband and I have 4 babies. 2 black labs, 1 yellow and our baby a Welsh Corgi/Jack Russell mix named Sophie Margaret. She looks just like a Corgi except her hair is a little short than most.
Welsh Corgi Breeder?
No
About My Corgi(s):
Sophie Margaret is 5 yrs old and the most awesome dog we have ever had! She is named after the Queen of course and has been the best little girl since my daughter and I picked up from a pet rescue. She is very overweight and I am trying to get ideas of how to slim her down. I have been doing the green bean diet for a while and it doesnt seem to be working. However after reading the different comment I think we are giving her to much food in the am and pm. You are all right she always looks like she is straving and is the official bowl licker for our other dogs!
I have:
Corgi mix

I've never gone to a weight mgmt food before..just regulate the amount they get but as they get older (senior) they don't need certain things like a younger one does though a 5 yr old is not old.

My goodness..it seems your doing everything correctly. Have you discussed this w/your vet? There could be a thyroid problem. Your definitely not over feeding her w/those rations but cut her back to 1/2 cup twice a day. All mine get a cup a day. Once she loses some weight she'll feel better and will get more active.

Yep..you've got yourself a true Corgi there. LOL There are alot of discussions on this topic in the forums but first, I have a few questions before advising properly. How old is she? What are you feeding now and how much a day? Do you offer any extras? What is the activity level? Depending on her age and how long shes been overweight will determine if her body will snap back once at her ideal weight. Being overweight can sometimes distort the figure and usually always looks bulky around the collar and front end. Kinda like us..we get to heavy for too long our bodies don't just snap back. Darn!!
