About Me:
In October my fiance and I got our first Cardigan Welsh Corgi. He is a fluffy and his name is Raife. He enriches our live in a way I didn't even know was possible and we are enjoying each day that he progresses from a puppy to an adult =)
Welsh Corgi Breeder?
No
About My Corgi(s):
Raife is my first dog and first Corgi. He is 17 weeks old and very smart. =) He picks up commands really quick when he wants to. I am looking forward to doing agility and tracking with him. We also have plans for him to become a therapy dog, he seems to have the right temperament for it.
I have:

Yes, to prepare for therapy dog work, get him socialized as much as possible. Also, keep going to training even after you finish basic. Any kind of classes will enhance the bond between you two. You might also start talking to whatever therapy group is on your area (mine is Love  on a Leash) and maybe ask if you can tag along one day, without Raife, to see how it works.

Here's a link to some pics of another red cardi fluff, our buddy Big Nick, who lives down here near us. His coat is a VERY different texture than JF's (much finer, softer fluff, but not as long/profuse/all over). He has a much different look (even though JF is his uncle).

The anticipation of waiting for a fluff's coat to mature!

So funny that JF popped up in your search. :) I did the exact same thing (search for pics of adult fluffs) when we were waiting to get JF. You probably have heard there are degrees of fluff in Cardis, and just so you know, JF is just about as fluffy as they come - all over. His sire was not a fluff but had a very generous, wavy coat, which JF inherited, 10x over. And I LOVE it.

Raife could very well lose all that black tipped fur; JF lost all of his except for a tiny spot on his muzzle. Who is Raife's sire? There aren't too many clear reds around these parts, and I might know of him. JF's sire, Sam (who lived in Charlottesville, but passed this past summer at 14), was a deep clear red and has LOADS of offspring. So anyway, JF and Raife could be cousins.

There have been few corgi meetups in this area, which is too bad, but if there ever is one and we can make it, we'll definitely look for you. :) You might want to look into joining (or attending an event of) the Chesapeake Cardigan Welsh Corgi Club (search Google). They welcome companion dogs and they're people and do fun (herding, lure coursing, fun days, etc.) up there in your area.

Thanks again for the note!
