I set them far enough apart so they can't really see each other while their eating. When they're done, I would stand in front of them, preventing them from going to another bowl. After 2 years, Dodger just goes outside when he's done (the doggy door is right behind his butt), & Geni goes to her spot under the stairs. Koda is starting to go outside when he's done, unless everyone else is done then he goes bowl to bowl making sure they're all sparkly clean. LOL. With Scrappy, he has yet to finish what's in his own bowl, so he isn't interested in anyone else's. He's still protesting being given only dog food. I give it til tomorrow morning before the strike's over.
Think of Cesar Millan, how he "claims ownership" something from a dominant dog by putting himself between the dog and what it's trying to claim. Same thing with the food bowls. I'm claiming those food bowls as my own. I'm just letting them use the for a brief period each morning. One bowl, one meal, it's all mine again and you're done. I can put Dodger & Gen side by side and they won't bother each other. Koda isn't at that point yet. It takes time.

That is awesome, how did you train them to behave so well?
