A tiny detail from the spectacular Harvest Scene pictograph panel in the Maze District of Canyonlands NP. This is probably several thousand years old (vastly older than the cliff dwellings, which are about 1200 AD), in a remote, rugged, unimaginably stunning canyon landscape. The humaniod figures are often over 7' tall. This altered false-color photo does not capture the details. When you see the canines -- I've noticed a few -- you feel a goose-bump connection through the walls of time.
