South Fork Eagle River 3/2015
The Pembroke Welsh marmot has an extensive range. This six-month old youngster has claimed Chugach State Park (an area roughly 2/3 the size of Rhode Island) as his territory. I was lucky enough to track him for approximately 8 miles today.

another thing I do is flag the collars with hot pink survey marking tape, partly for hunter safety and partly to keep and eye on them. Some reflective stuff on the collar is a good idea; it shows up brightly in a flashlight beam.
