We live in France and this week summer has hit with over 30c (86F) all week. So we decided to take Fortie to the local dog groomer for a trim. We're learning French, but we're still not that good however, we thought we got the general idea across - discussion on length and trimming areas with hand signals for how much to cut etc. Imagine our surprise when we returned after an hour to find the groomer had done the local speciality cut on Fortie! She assured us she returned the same dog...

Thanks guys. I hope his coat will grow back nicely, too Katy! It's already grown a bit in a week and some of the colour has returned. A friend here in France told me she once too her King Charles Cavalier to the groomer here and had her returned completely shaved -- whiskers and all!! Even the hair on her ears!! So at least it wasn't that bad but still...all his beautiful hair...
@Natalie, Lance &Tucker I don't understand how ppl who supposedly deal with these things all day long could mess it up so much! It's such slack business attitude...
I've made this mistake too (4/1/2013):
Just tell Fortie that the difference between a good haircut and a bad haircut is about a week. Well, a coupla weeks. OK, months.
when we first adopted tucker, I took him to the groomers and asked for him just to be brushed..and they ended up trimming him :( :(!!! and they couldnt use the lost in translation excuse either, cause we both spoke english...I dont know how else I could be any clearer when I said I just wanted him brushed and bathed. Luckily it all grew back just fine. Just be careful about sunburn without the fur there!!!
they even shaved his fancy pants :O :(!!
