Sunrise, Day 5, looking west at the northern North Cascades. We are bivouacked on a 6900' peaklet near Joker Mt., 7600'. I believe the ragged peaks on the left are the Pickett Range; not sure -- I've never seen them from this side before.
This begins Day 5 of a 9-day trip. These days are as good as any I've spent in Nature, but this will be the day Al gets hurt on some rough overgrown trail, and the dream will turn into a nightmare in the space of a couple hours after he wakes up lame the next day.
