It's funny you can see the city of Atlanta in the background! Definitely not as remote as where you are hiking! There is a hotel and a warm bed nearby

there's a lot of open steppe country like this in Central Washington; the geology is as spectacular as the scenery; we go there early spring before the snakes are out.
