Our dog parks here are quite nice. They use mulch as a base so it does not get too muddy and keeps the ticks down. I am always amazed at how attentive and viligent the humans are at the dog park. It makes for a great time.

Seems he had a blast with that smile.   From the picture it seems to be  a well maintained park.

We have two in our city, one with only a few pine trees, but built with a few mounds for the dogs to run around and the owners to be able to keep an eye from a distance.   The other one is massive but with lots of trees and bushes, keeping it natural for the dogs.    Although quite plesant for them, some have gotten seriously hurt from running into trees and you can have a hard time to find your dog when the leaves are in full bloom.

Lots of shades is nice but it's also mosquieto and bug country during the Maritime summers.
