This is a difficult one, but there IS a corgi in this photo. The flowers are the fruit of the Pasque Flower, which blooms flush with the ground and then grows a chopstick stem with these golden-fuzzy globs affectionately called "Mouse-on-a-Stick". There were acres of them. Hundreds of acres of them. Thousands of acres of them, in the golden early autumn sun.
