We hike in the rain all the time, and I've thought a corgi raincoat should cover their chest and belly because they pick up so much wet dirt -- but then, it would just get all wet, too. They seem to have excellent outdoor fur.

What I have thought about is some kind of white reflective sun shade. I've seen them get very hot and lethargic in the summer sun above timberline where there's little shade. They'll seek any shade they can find (ours are black tris). Dogs can get heat stroke, so we soak if there's water or find snow and make a corgicicle. Really.
