Heidi as a very old girl, in 2009. She was quite frail and had some problems associated with age like not grooming as often as she should have so she was looking a bit scruffy. Her blood pressure was a problem and she had to be on medication for that, but overall the vets told us her kidneys were in good condition even at 23 years. She loved to eat. The last morning of her life she was so chipper and eating well. We had been together for so long, since she was 6 weeks old, I just couldn't imagine being without her. But, that inevitable day did arrive on July 12, 2009 when we found her motionless on the kitchen floor early that Sunday morning. We think she had a heart attack or aneurysm on her way back to her bed from her water bowl during the night. Rest in peace my dear girl.
