Lilly was like that as a baby too!!  I actually got her ice packs that she slept on in her crate.  She was hot all the time.  I gave her a puppy cut this summer, no she isnt shaved, just trimmed. And we were some of the first ones to get a puppy pool at petsmart this year too!
