I have a corgi mix (some kind of hound) and she would likewise eat plates, boxes and everything she could snatch. She is a rescue and I think she may have been near starvation at some time.

Not really. They just are both slow eaters. Which is something I like! Our Boston wasn't invited to the party because he would have eaten his and theirs too before anyone had time to blink. Oh...and he would have eaten the plates while he was at it! He did get a 'to go' box though! LOL
