A rare sunny day.
Look carefully and you'll see the Pacific Crest Trail we followed (mostly under snow); it traverses all across this photo. Beneath the rocky crag at right, I belayed Gwynnie across the steep snow tongues; steep snow is really dangerous and requires an ice ax, sometimes crampons. Otherwise, snow travel is a mellow joy. On the way home, we climbed the second peaklet from the left; it's 100' higher than the one we're camped on. The distant center Peak is Snoqualmie Mtn., a favorite of ours, 1 hour's drive from Seattle.
