Two other climbers contemplate our descent steps. It looks steep, because it is, but it is not as steep as it looks. The soft snow makes it much easier, but when it's hard and firm, it's much more dangerous, and crampons and more skill are required.
A dog can climb up this stuff more easily than it can climb down. The safety rope must be kept very short so it can't get wrapped around their legs.
