Keeps her feet a lot cleaner. No red paws from digging in red georgia clay! We just dug a hole, dropped a plastic bin in place and filled with playground sand. It is actually close to the deck stairs so stays cool and shady in the summer time. So glad the crating is helping. I have also found crating good during a thunderstorm. Lightning struck our house two times and Duchess is a nervous nelling at night when the storms hit. When we put her in her crate she would just immediately relax and settle down to sleep. Otherwise she would pace all around the house. During day storms, we just play with her and ignore the big booming sounds!
