Winnie always knew when the dishes were clean, and when they were not.  In true Corgi style, of course, he was only interested in "helping" me with the dishes when they weren't clean.  I was forever telling him, "Winnie, no, these aren't clean, you can't lick them".  Then he'd get down and sit on the floor while I finished loading the dishwasher.   Now that he's gone, I find myself filling up the sink with dirty dishes instead of loading the dishwasher because I'm trying to avoid dealing with the fact that he won't be standing up there trying to lick the dishes.   The problem is that if I stopped doing everything that reminds of Winston, I'd stop doing everything.  : (
