About My Corgi(s):
Purcilla was rescued from a farm, where she was eating the calf feed and the corn, and ended up very overweight. She is a tri color, black being the dominant color, and she is a very sweet dog! It is going to be less food and more walking for the both of us!
Since Ella was outside in a barn this past winter, she built up a huge undercoat. I ended up buying one of those de-shedding brushes, I think they are called furinators. Then I took her outside and went to town on yanking it all out. I had to do this every day for about a week. I've also been told that you can "blow" the hair out with a shop vacuum on reverse (assuming Purcy doesn't mind loud noise). In order to keep the coat from building up, I'm planning on getting Ella a doggy coat for fall/winter for when she is outside.

Well at least Purcy is housebroken, that is always the hardest part. That and getting the undercoat out of a corgi :)
Keep me updated on Purcy's progress, she seems like a sweet girl.

Ella was the same way, she'd never been out of her barn stale. So the leash was a whole new experience, and so was not going to the bathroom where ever she wanted. What worked for us was keeping her right next to us and starting with a shorter leash. Hearing your story about Purcy, I'm curious because it sounds like our dogs may have come from the same place.
Welcome April and Purcilla!!! Ella my 1 yr old came from Eaton Rapids area, and she is our only dog and first corgi. I'm learning that corgi's are very entertaining and super sweet.
