About Me:
I am on my 2nd Pembroke Corgi, Chloe. Rusty ,my first Corgi was put down 4/6/06, he was 12 and had DM.. Married, two college age kids, and two cats. I am constantly looking for a non destructable dog beds and toys.
Welsh Corgi Breeder?
No
About My Corgi(s):
I purchased my Corgis from breeders on PWCA. My husband and I went to the breeders homes, kennel, toured the kennel, saw both parents and the pedigree. My family and I were interviewed as well by the breeders. what food, who would be taking care of the dog, do you have a crate, a lot of questions. Our latest corgi, Chloe was one from eight puppies. At first we picked her brother Kirby. Kirby was the runt and from the beginning something seemed odd, he wasn't that friendly when he got home. I honestly did not remember my previous experience corgi's Rusty's puppyhood. The breeder's vets, general and opthmologist and my intital vet all missed the fact that he had hydracepalous(water on the brain) . One day when he was about 13 weeks he just got lethargic. The breeder met us at the emergency vet and decided the best thing was to let Kirby go. I was so grateful that she made that decision removing the guilt of putting him down from me. Our breeder had the policy no matter what age if we cannot keep the dog it goes back to her. We called her because we were quoted 4 grand for a weekend, and we heartbreakingly could not afford that. The breeder felt just awful, and in 30 years experience as a breeder and judge she had never encountered that. Our breeder took care of the medical care and next day brought Chloe to us. She told us she had thought of breeding Chloe because she was show quality. Chloe has been such a wonderful puppy,

my girl Chloe is spayed and smart. We have completed taking obediance classes. We walk everyday. Her hobby is shreading paper. Chloe will help with yard work and tries to catch flies.

Pembroke

Dixon Corgi Faire

I went to the annual Dixon Corgi Faire.I think this is the third time I have gone with Chloe.  I have never seen so many Corgis!  I entered Chloe is the Corgi Bowling contest, 3 plastic cups with treats underneath, the object of the game is to knock over cup and get treats.  She got third place in her group.  We will practice for next year.  I did enjoy talking to other Corgi people.  What was interesting is that the Corgis in grass area all decided to chase other non Corgi breed like a…

Is there a way to get a dog to not chase cats?

Posted on October 8, 2012 at 1:42am 6 Comments

Chloe chases the cat Kudos.  I am so tired of it.  She mounts the cat.  Kudos the cat does not have front claws.  The "leave it" command is sometimes helpful, but at times not.  Does anyone have recommendations on how to deal with this?

Chloe had a private canine agility lesson at Performance Dogs in Action today. Nola wanted to see how she ran and see how she has progressed since her back injury. Chloe did great! She even went swimming in Nola's pond! I did not know Chloe was okay with the water and knew how to swim. I was so…

Hi Liz, Thank you for your message, Vienna is doing ok, she still has a good appertite, mobility is ok, she prefers to stay home vs go for a walk. Pants more from prednisone, a little fluid in lungs, so barks with a raspy voice. She is handling this quite well, good upbeat spirit :)

Corgis are just too smart....Lance only knows when we are spelling Walk but cant even say do you want to go on a W to anyone, cause he immediately knows what you mean, lol.

As soon as we are putting on shoes he automatically assumes hes going for a walk or if we arent intending to take him he gives you that stare like I know your not going to leave me and not take me for a walk....lol. Gotta love them. :)

Hi,

I have no idea if I've ever said this before (on a discussion, or group) but Chloe looks so much like my Potus! I saw your profile picture on a discussion and just had to comment!
