- I have had four over 50 years. My latest,Springer, is being put to."sleep" today, due to degenerative myelopathy,AND vonWilbrands Disease.it is a very sad day at the Stenseth home today, I've been crying nonstop. He is an incredible horse herder. I tell him lets go do "partners" and he knows that means horse feeding time. And he gets the horses rounded up and in the barn.Not so easy for a 17 year old boy to do on 10 acres of property, but he has yet to fail me, and he knows I am proud of him and he adores the praise. He loves to ride the 4 wheeler with me so much so, that my husband,now retired, has built a fail safe safety seat just for Springer on the 4wheeler. Springer is so proud he has his OWN seat. I keep telling him you earned it ,little buddy.
Anyway ,I don't expect the crying to end for months and days,he truly is my heart.
