Arthur, who was born on the day in 2006 when I started my first official librarian job, is a pure-bred red and white Pembroke. Merlin, who was found wandering the mean streets in 2007, is a tri-color Pembroke (mostly, we think, but there might be some other stuff mixed in). We think Merlin is approximately a year older than Arthur, but he's a rather mysterious dog. Merlin became part of our family via the Orphans of the Storm Rescue in Riverwoods, IL.
