We want to take Buster backpacking with us; just one night. We would like him to carry his own food. Are the ruffwear or mountainsmith packs ok for corgis? Or will any backpack hurt their back?Continue

About My Corgi(s):
We adopted a 7 y.o. rescue corgi named Buster about 6 wks ago. He passed his canine good citizens test today. He is still getting socialized to other dogs and our cats. He attcked our cats twice, but has since gotten to a policy of mutually ignoring each other with the outdoor cats. The indoor cat he attacked keeps his disctance and Buster still growls at both the indoor cats occasionally but will leave them alone and stop growling as long as we are present. We hope it gets to the point eventually where we can leave them all home together and not worry.

Right now our question is about which backpack will fit him best? His girth is 22.5 in and he weighs 28.5 pounds

Welcome Martha, Gerry and Buster! If you have not already done so, post your question in the discussion forums. Although if I remember right, backpacks are not recommended for corgis because their long backs are already prone to injury without the added weight of a pack.
