- I am trying to gather information regarding diabetic alert dogs for a very close friend of mine, who has been suffering from type 1 for going on 40 years now. He recently lost his beloved corgi due to cancer, and is devoted to getting a new one. I'm trying to find out if corgis can be trained as service dogs for diabetics, and if so, what kind of processes are involved, etc.
