I forgot to say that we had a very nice "service" for Mishka; there is a lady that owns a pet crematory on Ponce de Leon Ave. She has a room set up like a living room and they brought Mishka out in a bassinett and my mom, Brooke (who is 8 years old) and I were able to say good bye. The cremation took about 2 hours and we went back that afternoon to get her ashes. Apparently it is the only crematory in Atlanta that you actually are assured you are getting the pet's ashes back as they put an id bracelet on Mishka beforehand. You can actually watch the process (which we didn't want ) if you want--the lady that owns it used to be the president of the largest human crematory so she wanted people to have the option. She was very nice and was calling Mishka my baby. I have recommended her to others that want to go that route. I have her ashes, some hair, a poem and her favorite toy in a jar on a shelve in the family room. Brooke and I are still having a hard time without her here since she went everywhere with us. The only time she didn't go on a trip with us was 2 years ago when we went on a cruise--that is the next thing they need to do!!
Have you been in Idaho since you left here? I am sure it is beautiful out there. Atlanta has gotten way too big--I like it the way it was in the 80s and 90s. How many Corgis do you have? Do you have a Corgi Club out there?
I have emailed the breeder referral in FL and SC as I am trying to find a breeder that has the Nebriowa line--Mishka was a sibling in the line and I was trying to get an ancestor. Amy Caple may have pups in the fall, so I am going see those too.
Hi Patty, not sure if you remember me from the PWCCGA here in GA. I am a member of mycorgi and just recently put Mishka on here; she passed away about one month ago--she was 12 1/2 years old. I keep in touch with Bev and Mary and I am becoming a member again of the club. I will be looking to buy another puppy in the near future. Jody already had a rescue corgi a couple of weeks ago, yet it is too soon. Hope all is well. I still have a couple of the items you made for the silent auction back in 1999. Take care, Colette whiting
