Pierre, I would caution you on having an email blast from HSUS members. I have been working with their lobbyist here Unfortunately HSUS does not have a good reputation in Nebraska so we were careful to make sure that the communication from HSUS members focused on the public safety aspect, although we did not totally avoid the domestc animal injury issue. I think we are close to getting an amendment that will preserve the ban on trapping in the right-of-way,but allows for a county to apply for a special permit and would reqire posting to show traps are present. While it is not perfect the repeal would be awful! I'm sitting in a legislative hearing right now. As soon as my issue is done I will try to give you a call.
