I live with my husband of 35 yrs (no kids by choice) and our corgi, Kyle in SE Florida. I retired from training show horses professionally in 2005 when my husband had an unfortunate accident which left him in a wheelchair. We have a good life in Florida and love the weather. We do not let the fact Joe is in wheelchair stop us from living a happy life together. Life goes on with you or without you. We chose to keep keepin' on. I have just become a volunteer for the Sunshine Corgi Rescue. Since horses are no longer in my life, I am going to put my abilities to work for the corgi rescue. All dogs are great, but corgi's are beyond the best to me. I trained Morgan show horses because there was something about Morgans that were different than other breeds. They had personalities like no other breed that I have worked with. Corgis feel the same way to me. They want to be part of the family, with such soul, style and personality. Who can resist a corgi's "talking"? I want to begin working with rescued corgis that need some gentle behavior modification to make them ready for their forever home. I did a lot of this type of work with Morgans that had "issues". It was my life's happiness to make a difference in the lives of the horses that came to me and to the owners who learned how to work with their horses a better way. Now I hope to make a difference in the lives of corgis in need. We are a close family of three...Joe, me and Kyle. We spend our time together as a family and Kyle goes with us much of the time. We are thankful that Florida is a dog friendly state!

About My Corgi(s):
Kyle is a well mannered, red & white neutered male. He is going on 10 yrs old and is beginning to slow down some. We walk every morning by the ocean at sunrise to greet the day. He has lots of friends (dog & people)that he has met on his walks and looks forward to seeing them. He greets everyone he meets on the beach with a smile and kind eye.....and maybe a lick on the knee if they are wearing shorts.
When he meets a new person who is cooing him, he always looks up at me with his smile to say : "I know they are talking about me, really...look how cute I am. I am such a good dog!" It cracks me up every time. He is such a smooze.
