Time for an update: I have had Basil for just more than a year now and wow, what an amazing little dog. He gets on famously with the (female) German Shephard, loves the kids and is overall a wonderful member of the household.

The long hair is a bit of a pain when it rains, but nothing a good bath won't sort out. I'm probably sold on Corgis for life.
