My late husband and I have been Pembroke Corgi owners and lovers since 1989 I'll be 81 yr old next week .My husband and two of of our three are in heaven now . I have moved from a large home with big back yard to a small apartment. i called "Fairhaven Historical District of Bellingham WA. near the bay and four city parks and deer, squirrels, and bunnies ducks, geese in the wild and trails to state park down Chuckanut Drive..

I had 2 show coats which became our children when ours went off to university...They passed away..I have stories about each of them but not enough time to write. My husband brought home a dog 11 months old on the airplane that he bought from a breeder for 1/2 price in the San Diego desert. He said it was because she had longer hair than the others..I saw her and she she had a black back.red and white head sable ccolor and white in the right places but to me. looked like a stunted collie with no legs . I went to the computer to see if she was really a corgi as the papers said she was and was a "fluffy" That was my introduction to the Fluffy" That was nearly 13 years ago...There were about 5 fluffies I found on line at that time....so I knew it must be true..Now there are many...Yay..and she is still going strong much more healthy than either of our other two regularsShe has become the talk-of -the-town Her orginal name was Trinitys Brash and Sassy and as the runt of the litter.I keep her hair cut short and she looks like a walking tri colored teddy bear...everyones darling..She goes to hospitals, nursing homes, swims in the bay,plays ball, loves little children and is attracted to depressedpeople or mentally challenged that she may notice on the street or where we live in a highrise building..very sensitive to others feelings..almost like she is psychic. .I could write a book on her and her unique ways with people.If I had a dime for everyone who has come to me to ask if they could pet her or take her picture, Id be more than a millionare. Now she is going on 14 year and as healthy almost as she was in the beginning..She is an apartment dog. (Our others ha a huge yard to play in but on occasion wouldd find a way out and go roaming together down to the waterfront where there was food processing plants )My Fluffy which has been renamed "Sandi" for SanDiego spend a lot of keeping healthy I think the double dose of welsh collie that she inherited has don e her good... One of our regulars passed at 8years with pancreatic cancer and the other at 11 with mylopathy (genetic paralysis) He was in" a K-9 cart " very happy to keep on playingg ball in his wheel chair with active front legs...always continent )for a year before his front legs became paralyzed. Sandi has Cushings now but takes Flaxoil..lignans and melatonin and the Cushings seems to have been arrested...so aside from drinking a lot of water, show no signs of it She was diagnosed with it 2 years ago but shows no other signs of it.
