Our newest furbaby Harmony will get to come home next week Thursday,Aug 20th! Woohoo! :-D We just got an email from the breeder and we are sooooooo excited. She'll be 9-weeks old and her name fits her personality and temperament just perfect. We'll take tons of pictures when we meet the breeder to pick Harmony up and on the trip home. So get ready for cute puppy…
Wow! You have a housefull :) And I have been stressing about getting a little brother for Sadie :) Thanks for your comment on our video. She taught me to roll the ball with her. I didn't teach her. She does that when she wants to get us to play with her.
Thanks. He won best Herding Group Puppy, last Saturday, and it was his first show! I would love to brag about it, but my Blackberry won't let me blog. Also won't let me add friends, or I would have added you. Can't wait to see more pics of your new baby!
Thanks so much for the advice!! It makes it easier to plan for the trip. I'll look into that other med you mentioned. Thanks again, I know you must be busy!
Hi, my dog has been diagnosed with ear allergies. His ears were scoped and look great. I looked up that Clomicalm and don't really want him on tranquilizers; the less drugs the better.
right now he is on Burrows ear drops, 1/2 cc every 2nd day...he still shakes his head and sometimes runs to the sofa or bed and rubs his head into it. Sometimes he briefly rubs his head on the floor. Is this normal after 5 weeks on these drops. WE are going away next week and will change his food after that. we don't want to create any more stress for him when we leave him for the 1st time.
Is there any other med treatment for ear allergies? I hate to go to the vet again or phone him again...I am sure he is tired of hearing from us.
He was on Burrows twice a week for about 3 weeks, and every 2nd day for about 10 days now. Is it working, do you think? One time we missed the dose by 3 days and he went haywire again.
Thanks for all your help, I appreciate it.
Thanks for the comment on stress shedding. Just a few questions?
Is Clomicalm something that I would just give before the ear drops? or would he have to be on it all the time? Right now we give ear drops every 2nd day.
By the way, when I gave the eardrops tonight, he was shaking and started dropping hairs within a minute or two. So I definitely due believe it is due to stress.
Do you know anything about allergies? THe vet has prescribed Burrows steriod solution for his ears. He started out using 1/2 cc twice a week. After 3 weeks and not enough improvement, he upped it to the same doseage every 2nd day. We have finished 1 week of this and don't know if it is really helping him enough. Is there something else I should be asking the vet for. What about a steriod shot? or a stronger med?
Thanks so much for any help you can give me. I really appreciate it. Joy and Butter
Thanks for the welcome! We love our Willow. She is quite the 'herder' as was my Australian Shepard, Hank, that I had years ago. When anyone runs, she feels the need to follow them and bark...it is cute if you understand the nature of corgis, but can be scary for those who don't know her. She definitely has an attitude around bigger dogs,,,let's them know she takes NO crap from them!! :)
I see you are a vet assistant. My 11 yr old daughter wants to be a veterinarian, absolutely LOVES wolves and wants to save them all from extinction as well as every other animal! Any advice for her? I have had the vet assistants at our vet's office tell her to be an assistant,,,that you get to do as much with the animals as a vet, but cannot prescribe meds or administer meds...but they love what being assistants.
