Just found out we get to pick up our little girl tomorrow morning. Now we just need to find her a name. Our cat is named Calypso, and out last corgi was Tiki. I would like something to go with either of these. I thinking Kona or Maya. I also like Zoe or Santini. Does any one have and thoughts or suggestions? My new profile pic is the best photo we have of her at the moment. Thanks!

Well the time has come. We just started looking for a new puppy. I can't wait until we get another furry baby in the house.

It's getting close to a month now since Tiki crossed the rainbow bridge. I thought I was doing good. I could talk about him with out breaking down and today, I received a piece of mail that brought me to tears again. Tiki's local vet made a memorial donation in his name to the College of Veterinary Medicine, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I had no clue that our vet would do something like this. I was amazed and honored that they did this for us and him. Hopefully someday, no one…

This is the last thing I wanted to post today. Thank you everyone for all the support and prayers and virtual hugs Gary, Tiki and I received this past month. We made the decision at 4:00 this morning to put him down today. He was in pain and we knew it. The new meds didn't work, and the old meds were even worse. So at 10:30 this morning our brave little Tiki boy ventured out to the rainbow bridge. It was a hard road for us, and we did everything we could for him. Rest in peace little man. Mommy…

Well this morning I contacted the vet and they changed up some meds. We took him off the Piroxicam since it was making thing worse. We are waiting at least until Thursday to start back up on the Deramaxx. The ups and down of this cancer is an emotional roller coaster. I found some shirts online at cancersucks.com that I plan on buying. I also lost my father-in-law and my husbands Grandma to cancer last year with in a two month period so now I really have a reason to own one of these shirts.…

Yesterday wasn't good and today is shaping up the same way. The only thing we have going for us is we still like to eat, be with us and chew on bones. Tiki is hardly walking and cries when you try to help him up. He tries to go potty but has trouble standing. He started leaking urine last night an I've been cleaning everything so we can get through the rest of today. I have a feeling, tomorrow will be his last. I know this sound short and to the point, but I can't keep the tears back enough to…

Well today was the trip to Veterinary Specialist Services in St Louis. We received the worst news possible. We found out that our furry baby boy Tiki, was diagnosed with prostate cancer. They said we are looking at six (or less) months. It amazing such a small word can punch you in the gut and hurt so bad. I don't know what to think at this moment. I really keep asking how and why, but not directed to anyone particular. I guess I really would like and answer and a magic pill to make his cancer…

Well it's been four days and we final heard back from the vet. Dr Locke was waiting a return call from University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine and apologized for the long wait. U of I suggested we move forward with chest and upper body x-rays along with blood work to test for cancer. U of I also suggested that we take Tiki to see a neurologist, but of course the closest one to Springfield is Aurora. So I guess I'll be burning some vacation time for a road trip to the neurologist…

We had our follow up vet visit this evening, and still no answers. The x-rays came back worse but the internal exam by the vet had her confused. On the last internal exam Tiki completely freaked out and squealed and tonight he didn't even flinch. The vet was so confused by this, she asked another vet to preform the same test and Tiki pretty much just sat there wondering when they were going to be finished. Hopefully the pain is starting to go away and the antibiotics must be working. The local…
