My Corgi is about 10 or 11 and she licks constantly. She is always licking my hardwood floors, the glass on the fireplace and the bricks in front. It's almost like a nervous habit. She licks every minute that she's awake. I've tried to find a reason and a solution, but I'm stumped.

I am going to have some blood work done to eliminate some possibilities. Where ever she is, she licks the floor(carpet, hard wood, linoleum(sp) ceramic. She was a "found" dog at 3 yrs old so I don't have any idea of her early history. She's my soulmate so I will do anything to help her.

Both our boys lick alot. It seems like they lick before they go to sleep. If the jump up on the sofa or bed they lick and lick then settle down and go to sleep. Many times we have gotten in bed to have a wet pillow or bedspread. I have always wondered if it was a relaxing thing or boredom. Anyone have an idea?

I wonder if it could be a food allergy (itchy tongue). Corgies seem to be pron to have allergies. I would take her to the vet or at least try some benedrill.

It's been going on for years but has gotten more constant lately.
