Well I finally have great news. After searching high and low all over the state of Florida, I think I finally have my puppy.

Let's rewind to two weeks ago when I met the breeder and the puppies for the first time. There were five gorgeous puppies out of nine originally (the mother killed 4 :( unfortunately). There were two girls, both fluffy, and three males. I decided beforehand that I wanted a male. All three males I could have taken home that day, but one caught my eye right off the bat. His breeder given name was Mason. He was the biggest of the five puppies and had the face of his father. However, there was another little guy named Evander that was just as cute. He was named after the boxer Evander Holyfield because the dam bit his ear off and it had to be stitched back on. So I spent most of my time focusing on these two guys. Unfortunately since it is South Florida it was extremely hot outside and the puppies all wanted to take naps when I arrived. I spent most of the day asking questions and talking with the breeder. She was extremely knowledgeable, helpful, and just gave me an overall good feeling. The only hiccup during the visit was that the breeder was considering keeping one of the males to show. Of course, the one she wanted to show was my little Mason.

Fast forward to last night I visited the breeder for the second time to get a better idea of how the puppies interact and to see how much they've grown. Oh boy, have they grown. They are still a little underweight, due to their rough start in life, but they are gaining quite nicely. Mason and Evander both put on almost two pounds since the last time I've seen them. Mason is the biggest weighing in at just over 8lbs.

When I first got there last night Mason and his little brother, named Dixon, were wrestling with one of the females chiming in. This already was more activity than I saw from them the last time. The first time I saw them they were just digging in the garden trying to stay in the shade and eat as much dirt as possible. Mason still has a little pink on his nose, but it looks like it is starting to fill in. Throughout the evening I was just watching the puppies play and pee mostly, while talking to the breeder. Mason is definitely cut out of the adventurous mold. He was exploring behind all the bookcases and sofas,.chewing on wires, and wrestling with his brothers and sisters. He also had a little accident where he tried to Superman off the sofa and bumped his head on the floor. But a few seconds after a little belly rubbing he was back to his spunky ways.I

finally had to ask the breeder the question which I've been wondering about for the past two weeks. Whether or not she was going to show Mason? Then she said the words I've been waiting for, "...he's yours if you want him." Talk about being excited! I talked with the breeder for a few more minutes and we decided that I will be taking ownership of Mason on Memorial Day. So Mason will be coming home May 26th. I am beyond stoked and now it's time for all the pre-puppy arrival preparations. May 26th cannot come soon enough!

And now I'd like to introduce the MyCorgi.com community to Mason (name is subject to change).

Mason's a cutie! : - ) Charlie's "butterfly nose" never has filled in, so I guess it won't. Not a health problem or anything. He just gets doggie sunscreen on his nose. LOL

Congratulations on your new boy!

He's so cute! You could name him Rorschach because his nose looks like an ink-blot test. Enjoy your little fur bundle and I'm looking forward to more pictures.
