After several years of corgi-envy, my husband and I finally got one of our own! I've been a member of MyCorgi.com since last October, so some of the old-timers may remember me from a few months back. Since we were in a temporary apartment situation, we were waiting to get our puppy. In the meantime, I was showing off the other family corgis - my parents' dogs, Bingley and Lizzy, and my in-laws' puppy, Dylan. If you have the MyCorgi.com calendar, Bingley is the handsome Mr. July. =)
Bennet came to live with us last Sunday and he is an absolute dream of a puppy. He sleeps through the night in his crate - no crying, no accidents. When we go outside his first priority is "potty" and there have been very few indoor accidents. He's very easy-going, and he loves to meet new people. Everybody at the vet's and the pet store thought he was the cutest puppy they'd ever seen (of course, I had to agree!).
I can't wait for Bennet to meet Bingley and Lizzy. Unfortunately they live three hours away, so it will be a couple of weeks before we can go over. He met Dylan on the way home Sunday and they were great together. I was a little worried since Dylan is an only-dog and is rather rambunctious, but he was really nice to Bennet.
A final note on Bennet's name: if you're a Pride & Prejudice fan, you may have already picked up on this. I was living at home when my parents got Bingley and Lizzy, and I was the one who suggested the names. Of course I wanted to follow the theme, so Bennet was a natural choice. I just couldn't bring myself to name a cute little puppy after Mr. Collins or Wickham. So corny, but I just love it!
