I came home around 4am, I was dropped off and walked clumsily inside. I immediately let out the little Cheez-it where he relieved himself many times. We came in and I took a seat on the couch and fell asleep! At some point during the night he chewed the bottom of my other couch, ate the debris, and then pooped it everywhere just so I would be sure to notice his efforts. I suppose I can only blame myself, but chewing the couch? Really? He's never done that before, but he proved he cannot be out alone for a while. I couldnt even be angry, though I think he sensed my discord.

He was chewing the back of his back legs, the hair was coming out pretty nicely. I powdered his butt with Gold-Bond and put a little fish-oil in his food after checking him over for fleas. He stopped with the chewing now thankfully. I did find that there are many tutorials/how-to's online to make your own Elizabethian Collar (the cone). It helped reduce the chewing, if he would not have had that on I would have hated to see how his back legs look now. I guess you cant blame him.

He did learn to "spin" though, so I mean, thats good right? :)

Oh geez, I hope I can keep an eye on Banzai. I don't want him taking after the little Cheez ball there.

Welcome to the world of puppyhood. I have many pieces of "redesigned furniture from raising countless dogs and foster dogs. It does take quite some time before they can be trusted to chew appropriately on "their" specific items. They just dont know. You blamed the right being....a lesson you will not soon forget.
If he learned to spin because you taught it to him and you can start and stop it then it is great. If he chooses to do this on his own and seems to be obsessive about it not so good. Any repetitive behavior such as this is a sign of over excitement/anxiety. Frequently this is displayed due to boredom and lack of exercise. Seems that you give him plenty of outlet for that.
