Wow! I can not believe how hard it is waiting for my puppy to be old enough to come home! It has only been a week so he is now 3 weeks of age and I still have at least 5-7 weeks left :(

Waiting is exciting though. Kim from Poso Creek in Bakersfield, CA has been kind enough to keep me updated with weekly photos of my buddy so I can see how he grows up.

There is so much to learn about corgis and training dogs that I am glad that I have so much time to read up on everything. Clicker training worked well for my dad with our last husky, Marty, so I will be using the same method with by pup but plan to have more follow through so that he is better behaved, although with huskies independence is to be expected :) I can't wait to get started with my pup, and all of my coworkers and friends can't wait to meet the pup in person!

I remember being in that position! In reality it was just 15 weeks ago but now it feels like Hunter and Layla have been with us forever. I also tried to ease the anticipation by learning everything I could about the breed and dog care in general - that's how I found this website! We did clicker training and the dogs seemed to get it very quickly. We also just finished Puppy Kindergarten at PetsMart (ok I think they just call it puppy training but kindergarten is way more fun) and I would definitely recommend something like that. Good luck and have fun!!!

I'm in the same position. My pup is 6 weeks old now, but I won't be able to pick her up until 10 weeks! The pics will be the best e-mail surprises. I know I look for those everyday. Good luck!

Best of luck with your new pal. Taking this time to learn will be so helpful to you when your bring your pup home. If you do not currently have a veterinarian now would be a great time to find one that you feel comfortable with. You also have time to go and visit some training classes in your area. Fun to go shopping for all the supplies you need so you are ready for his arrival. Enjoy the anticipation, he will be here before you know it!

How exciting!! Learn as much as you can while you are waiting.Getting Kitty was so last minute, that I knew little to nothing about the Corgi breed. So,it was all hands on training for her and us. But,was blown away by how awesome she is.We love our Kitty and you will be thrilled with your new pup!Do you have a name, yet?
