Sidney's First Birthday

Today is the big day. Our baby boy Sidney is one year old! To celebrate, we took a nice long walk through the neighborhood, then we had birthday cake! We had gone to a local doggie boutique and bought a doggie birthday cake. It is carrot cake with peanut butter frosting, made with no white flour or sugar. All three of our dogs (and my kids) liked it a lot. It was so cute, decorated with little milk-bone cookies.

We bought Sid a couple toys too. One is just a fuzzy dot that squeeks, which reminds me of a tribble from Star Trek. I also got him a small "bad cuz" squeeker toy. It's just so cute! And for all three dogs I bought bully sticks. All in all a great day.

Sidney has been with us for 6 1/2 months now and he has been such a great addition to our family. Sure, he chases one of our cats, and early on he chewed the upstairs sofa up, but there are bound to be ups and downs. He's smart and protective, mostly obedient and extremely loyal to my daughter. He's still a little shy of meeting new people but he plays very well with other dogs at the off-leash dog park. We love him so much!
